MODERN AND TRANSITIONAL RUGS
Our collection of fine modern, contemporary and transitional rugs and carpets are primarily handwoven in India and Nepal. We source the finest wools, silks and natural fibers available, infusing traditional weaving techniques with modern design aesthetics. Complete customization is available for specific design, color and size requirements.
MAHARAJA - fine transitional rugs and carpets inspired by 16th/17th century Indian & Persian carpets and textiles from our private collection.
IKAT - western language has adopted the Malay-Indonesian term “Ikat" for textiles patterned by tie-dying. Primarily woven in Uzbekistan and Turkestan with graphic symbolism, for necessity and practical use such as blankets, bath towels, table cloths, various articles of clothing and accessories. The modernity of bold colors infused with irregular abstract motifs have revived this primitive art form, inspiring many decorative objects. Our custom designs are derived from the early examples of the mid-19th century.
